What is a scrapbook?

When does Scrapbooking start?

Scrapbooks gained a prominent position during the Renaissance. The predecessors of these modern scrapbooks are called "ordinary books." Hamley wrote: "Smile, smile, be a villain." The philosopher John Locke emphasized this in his handbook entitled "New Ways to Make Ordinary Books." In 1769 there was a book by Granger, a book used by William Granger. Granger uses this form to publish the history of England and provides additional explanations for the text in the appendix. Granger's books are also known as extra illustration books.
The main interest in scrapbooks appeared in 1826, "Manuscript Gleanings and Literary Scrapbook" by John Poole. However, the word "scrapbook" was created a few years ago and until then there were various names. In the late 19th century, Mark Twain also promoted the use of scrapbooks for a series of patent applications in 1872.
Photography and scrapbooking
The invention of photography took the concept of scrapbooking to another level and changed the way it was done completely. Now, you can also capture the scene of the event described in the text.
In the 20th century, the popularity of scrapbooks declined. This is because during the first word war, the economic recession led to the collapse of companies, even those that recorded happy hours. Another reason is that, around 1940, the mass production of photo albums began, and people ignored the scrapbook as the preferred method of recording life events. The resurgence of the scrapbook began with Alex Haley's "root."
Since then, people have become interested in scrapbooking. Today, with the introduction of digital technology, it has gained new colors.
