What do the plots of the carnival have in common?

Not all binge eating looks the same. And I said that despite the DSM-5 standard for bulimia.

Bulimia is the most common eating disorder in the United States. It is characterized by recurrent episodes and persistent episodes of overeating. The episode feels out of control. They are also related to alcoholism, and three or more of the following:
from

• Eat much faster than usual
from

• Eat until uncomfortable
from

• Eat plenty of food when you are not hungry
from

• Eating alone due to the embarrassing amount of food consumed
from

• Afterwards, I feel sick, frustrated or guilty.

In bulimia, these behaviors are usually followed regularly by compensatory clearance. But the cleanup behavior either does not exist or is only used occasionally for bulimia.

Ok, in addition to the diagnostic criteria, I observed different types of overeating in my clients and my PhD research participants.

Some episodes meet standards and have death accuracy. Others are different - it may be the amount of food eaten, or it may be the "speed" of eating. Or sometimes at the time of the carnival.

The last change allowed me to include a phenomenon I called "Carnival Day." Participants in my PhD study kept a food log and were instructed to circle anything they thought was carnival. Many of them had circled around the food log all day. It was a carnival day.

How about the days of carnival?

The amount of food in the entire Binge Day is usually very large, but they do not carnival according to standard standards at certain times of the day.

However, these days often occur and too many participants/clients let me ignore them.

What do these carnival days have in common with DSM-5? The feeling of eating is out of control.

This is what I have observed in research and practice: carnival - "traditional" or other - usually caused by the consumption of sugar.

Participants in my low-sugar group improved more in terms of overeating, food intake, cravings, and craving intensity than the low-fat or control group.

If you are struggling with overeating, the best thing you can do is stop eating sugar.
