CHOI Lai Sheung is a contemporary Chinese poet who was born in Shishi City, Fujian Province and now lives in Hong Kong. She is the author of more than 70 books and the editor-in-chief of the multi-language world poet quarterly. She is also proficient in calligraphy and has a reputation for gymnastics and swordsmanship.

While reading her 100 translation poems, I found Cui to be a romantic visual poet with mature aesthetics and poetry. Unlike many versions of the plain poet, Cui's poetry has many lasting values: her version is not only simple but profound, but also perfect and important. She combines thought, emotion and emotion, spiritual level, and inner reality:

"How can I
from

  not perfect
from

  Tolerated by my love

I am all for beauty
from

  But not the beauty itself [p. 227]

Choi and Zhang Zhizhong achieved spiritual richness in the creation and translation of the last two lines of poetry.

When the duo said: "Tough and speechless / silent in the heart of tears" [p. 225]; "Dream spread my wings / fly into heaven / fragrance with the mortal world" [p. 209]; "the sea Such as passion / rainbow as brush / I dance, soar in the universe" [p. 189]; "just a rainbow / in a circle of self-reduction / between the sky and the earth" [p. 185]; "I am a Finding and exploring/networks around unknown oceans" [p. 183]; "Dream is a piece of pure land/heart equality for all" [p. 175]; "rivers and lakes extend to infinity/water and sky share the same "Color" [p. 165]; "The plan of existence should/conquer under the feet" [p. 137]; "Retain by attention to wind and rain, attention and passion" [p. 131]; and "raise historical trauma/washing to the sky" The bright expectations of time" [p. 105]; I feel a sense of mind, or the masculine influence of the famous Indian poet philosopher Srio Robindo.

Zhang Zhizhong must think that CHOI is a poet who is difficult to translate, especially her spiritual consciousness, which is difficult to express in English. However, he has done this challenging task well and made me feel satisfied and read Choi's version in English. The two poets [translators are also a famous name in contemporary Chinese poetry, with rich experience in bilingual literature, language and film] have successfully studied the "limits of time and space / and transcended national boundaries" [No. Page 177] Thanks for their love and commitment to human solidarity, universal peace and happiness.

Reading Choi's poet is like experiencing love, life, nature and simplicity. She reflects an inner culture, the essence of the Chinese spirit, which is always inspiring and constantly updated:

"You don't need to sing a song that sounds good.

  No need to compose melodious music
from

  Great passion and emotion
from

  Always bring brightness" [page 159]

She has a sense of purpose and mission: self-discovery and world discovery. With her heart, she soars between heaven and earth [see page 123] and expresses her unity with nature: "As many ocean miracles/many miracles" [p. 111]. Elsewhere, she said that with a triumphant heart, she quietly "cheats heroism and justice/between heaven and earth" [p. 149] and expands a new height in her consciousness: "I am going / Prove my position / use my craggy / Integrity" [p. 155]. When she asserts, she sounds like Savitri of Srio Robindo: "Upright and erect is the power of character" and "Climb and rise is moral integrity" [p. 147]. Her evolution means awakening herself or raising life and existence to a higher level of consciousness. Unity, harmony, and love are the keys to her.

Like a yogi, with perfect inner discipline, Choi "takes the pen as a gimmick/cultivating fertile land in silence/breaking the ground and sprouting for seeds" [p. 145]. It is through the evolving sense of the soul, "the beauty of erect" and "the unyielding floral spirit" that she tries to prove her individual existence.

Choi Lai Sheung's excellence lies in the freshness of each of her poems. She does not imitate the past, nor does she think and feel in any predetermined way. Through her own recognition, she is a "hardworking fork" who tries to "achieve perfection with fruit and seasons/fruit for fruit" [p. 23]. Her poetic genius strikes a good balance between what is routinely offered in some of China's best lyrics and contemporary poetry that we describe elsewhere in English. With a new insight into the nature of human experience, the reality of "rich life", she has a rich appeal to our senses, imagination, emotions and intelligence.

Dr. Zhang Zhizhong, who is a translator, seems to have worked very hard to prove the degree of integration of the various materials of this poem and the degree of success that is proportional to her close structure. Each word he chooses, if not a bet, represents the correct word and is used to express the full meaning of the poet. Words and images are not old-fashioned but fresh. It is commendable that in his English rendering, there is no conflict between the sound of poetry and his feelings. Images and ideas are so effectively arranged that any rearrangement will result in harm to the poem or its form and content. I wholeheartedly appreciate the outstanding performance of CHOI and Zhang Zhi. They are all worthy of world recognition.
