Depth understanding of "keep quiet" # 39; Author: Pablo Neruda
Introspection is a virtue that seems to have withdrawn from the contemporary world. Pablo Neruda affirmed the importance of this noble value in his reflective poem "Keep quiet." This poem was first and foremost a coup by the poet. He asked the whole world to remain silent for a while.
There is a problem here. Why is the poet counted as twelve? When an activity begins unanimously, it is customary to calculate three [in most cases] or four before the activity begins. But the correlation of the number 12 is a contemplative issue. The poet may refer to the number in the clock; but why is it so long? Is it because the poet thinks that the present world, everyone is talking, without physical listening, is so accustomed to speaking, it takes time before the poet's information is registered?
Regardless of the territorial or linguistic barriers, the poet wants the entire world to stop all activities for a while. Pablo Neruda indirectly pointed out that negotiations and activities in today's world are more destructive than constructive, so let it stop for a while. His tone in the next section shows that he has tasted this exoticism more or less. The whole world shares a rare moment of strange inactivity.
This activity does not have negative quality. This tempts people to think about things that he has never considered before. Fishermen do not harm whales, and salt collectors tend to be affected hands. In short, humans will begin to think about themselves and others. Whales represent the whales of others. Salt collectors tend to be hands-on and represent people thinking about themselves.
The poet believes that when people have time to think about themselves and others, sometimes those who engage in various wars [green wars, gas wars, fire wars] will realize that their victorious wars are futile, survivors are few and mixed together. With their companion animals in a new friendship and love. Green warfare may mean that wars invented in the jungle or humans can cause environmental degradation. The second explanation seems to be more relevant.
Here, Neruda hopes to clarify one point. When he suggests inactivity, he does not mean death or lethargy. He refers to the life in which profit ideas occur. Men are now worried about their lives. When he only cares about his life, he is most afraid of death. Pablo Neruda advises men to allow themselves to perform a certain degree of introspection in order to understand themselves and their compatriots. Then he may not be greatly threatened by death. This poem hopes that human beings will learn from the earth. Although the Earth seems to have died and inactive all over the winter, it will undergo a process of revival, and when spring comes, it will be full of vitality. In the same way, people should make this quiet reflection and then appear with new energy, which will provide a new life for him and the people around him.
