Book Review - Puppy Thief: and other stories by Gilcorni

It is often difficult to describe the intricate relationship between animals and humans. In her book "Dog Thieves and Other Stories", Gil Kearney does not have such a problem, offering a series of touching short stories that attract your heartstrings and leave the mark on reading. It won't fade at the end.

Inspired by his experience as a care provider and dog breeder, Kearney transforms the narratives of people who are forgotten or displaced by society and the animals that trust them. In her own words, "I am interested in the lives of those who feel that they are doing nothing to anyone." This sentence really responded to the whole book.

The series begins with a self-proclaimed novella. from

Dog thief
from

Neighbors of an oppressed community gathered to rescue several dogs from their negligent host. The owner of the dog, Donald, actually inherited these dogs after his mother died, and later his sister. Donald is lazy and negligent about these dogs, but he gets the impression that he has a responsibility to keep them. However, his protectiveness against the dog masks any respect for his happiness and makes his mental abilities questionable, at least for this reader. When we followed Donald's neighbors to help, the author also incorporated the riveted sub-plot into the story. Dealing with injustices and environmental constraints, Elizabeth, blacks, one-eyed women and others provide interesting and complex questions because they first understand how seemingly insignificant behavior can change the world.

The short stories that follow the novella are equally fascinating, each of which evokes inner resonance, leading to the need to stop thinking before entering the next one. I am attracted to some characters, and I can feel the way they feel and experience. I actually read several stories twice.

Kearney's writing is passionate, straightforward and straightforward. Prospectively, we need to use the sugar-coated narrative to appease the reader. Her voice and some outspoken nature tell it that it is witty and fresh, both charming and cute, and unforgettable. Seriously, no one can help, but was touched by these stories. Through the vivid and rich description provided by the author, some of the most insignificant environments in my mind, which I can't imagine, become clear and unambiguous.

Heartbreak, helplessness, hope and inspiration - these words only hint at what the reader will feel on these pages. Jill Kearney's "Dog Thief and Other Stories" is a book I highly recommend. Because Kearney provides insights into what really matters, it is difficult for pet and human advocates to put the book down.
