Book Review: How to Tell a Great Story by Aneeta Sundararaj

For several years, Aneeta Sundararaj has been helping writers write countless articles, reviews and interviews through her website. Now, she has gathered all her experience and expertise in her new book author "How to Tell a Great Story".

After a brief introduction, Sundararaj takes beginners to all the steps needed to be a great storyteller, from important preparations to understanding themes, telling the reasons for a great story, painting your settings, and more. At the end of the book are five appendices: planning and analyzing your research materials, market research information, role profiling, storyteller copyright issues, and sample storylines.

Written in a fascinating and thoughtful style, combined with references and written materials from other authors, "How to Tell a Great Story" provides a useful, informative reference book for any aspiring storyteller. However, what I really like about this book is the new perspective that the author brings: the importance of storytelling includes not only the story but also other aspects of our lives. For example, if you're doing marketing and promotional work and have to demonstrate, knowing how to tell a good story can be helpful in the workplace. A story connects people in a way that is simply impossible to explain or demonstrate.

Sundararaj points to the importance of time and intonation; in other words, it's usually not just that the story is crucial, but how you tell it. This is something that some people have when they are born, but it is also a skill that can be learned and improved. The same logic applies to writing. Aneeta Sundararaj grew up in a small town called "Alor Star" in Malaysia. She went to college to study law and practiced for a few years. Then she decided to follow her writing dreams. She published her first novel [The Banana Leaf Men] and then created and developed a dynamic website called "How to Tell a Great Story." She continues to write full time and now lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
