Book Review - Darkening of Michael Cole's Darkness

Newton's third law of motion states that "there is an equal and opposite reaction to any action." Michael Cale's latest novel, "The the Darkness Deepens," is one of the universal laws. An interesting study because it is related to the power of good and evil. Although this is a common storyline, Cale's strong portrayal and powerful climax give a stale theme to form a solid story.

We first met the humble Christopher Jones and went to school with his seven-year-old daughter, Sally. After hugs and kisses, Christopher sent his child across the street, and suddenly a cute car crashed into Sally, killing her deadly. In the current horror, Christopher used mysterious power to heal his daughter and saved her life. This act of love creates an equal and opposite reaction that literally produces the main opponent of the story.

Christopher discovered a new sense of self and direction. He changed from a gentle language to a person full of new powers for his own benefit. In the end, his power spread, he attracted thousands of despair, frailty and madness. Christopher is just a pinball that helps those who want to help those who want to make another profit.

Cale, the 2001 novel "The Shrinking House of Souls", is an Eppie finalist who knows how to build a solid story. Here, he combines good and evil in greedy entertainment managers, religious beliefs and Catholic churches. When all three groups collide in a dramatic ending, the reader will provide a powerful overview of the morale paradox in the daily doctrine. Using the dirty background of South Los Angeles effectively, he built a series of vivid characters that overflowed from the 150-page novel.

Despite several annoying conversational convulsions and sometimes sloppy narrative style, Carles pointed out roles and scenarios. I will recommend As As Darkness Deepens to readers as a study of moral evil and bring destruction into goodness.
