USASF rules and cheerleading world

The USASF [American All-Star Federation] is the largest company that stipulates all rules and regulations for the All-Star Cheerleaders. Every year they come up with new rules - some of which draw a lot of attention in the world of cheerleading. The 2012-2013 season is no exception. I will discuss some of the main rule changes that have caused a lot of buzz.

Rolling rule change
from

  • No standing allowed
from

  • Do not allow standing doubles
from

  • Do not allow continuous binding and twisting skills

Age grid rule changes
from

  • Eliminate mini level 3 to mini level 5
from

  • Eliminate youth level 5 restricted teams by limiting youth level 5

  o There is no double full when rolling

  o Basketball pitching did not kick doubles

  • No longer separate primary coeducational level 3 from primary schooling level 3
