Hiking the Swiss Alps - an unconventional honeymoon

An avid hiker is not a phrase I usually use to describe myself; my husband is sometimes, but not me. As an urban girl, I grew up 45 minutes on the outskirts of Manhattan, and the only time we know about hiking is a quarter-mile journey to the mailbox.

On our date, my husband took me to the vast world of the outdoors: mountain biking, hiking [not too hard, according to his measures], and camping without a shower. So I was not surprised when he suggested that we go to the Swiss Alps for a honeymoon.

At first a little reluctant, I quickly became keen to spend the first day of a newlyweds in Switzerland. This country is not only renamed with its beautiful scenery and breathtaking scenery, but my father's family is from Switzerland, and I am very happy to visit my grandparents' birthplace.

Despite this, hiking in the entire European country is not my opinion of the ideal honeymoon. What happened to the white sands of the Caribbean or the all-inclusive cruise ship? It may be a cliché, but in my opinion, the honeymoon and the tropics are very eye-catching. So when I found an atypical honeymoon in the hiker's paradise instead of the perfection of lying in the sun, I thought of my surprise.

We arrived in Switzerland on the second day after the wedding and started our alpine adventure with a guide, which is truly the only way out. There is a guide that allows us to travel safely in the scenic Swiss countryside without fear of going astray or in the unknown. Our guides are confident and handsome, and have a deep understanding of the areas we travel to make our trip more enjoyable.

The reputation of the Swiss Alps is well known all over the world, but it certainly will not make such a magnificent natural miracle [if you have been there, you will understand what I mean]. When describing the Alps, the awesome course is an understatement. I was shocked by the majestic mountains, beautiful waterfalls and lush alpine meadows. I stood at the top of the glacier, in the shadow of the great Matterhorn mountain. Even though the smell in the air is fresher, the birds sing sweeter in the Alps.

One of my favorite trips is to visit Zermatt, a charming little village at the foot of the vast Matterhorn. Complete cobblestone streets and charming chalets, I found everything in the village to be tempting and fun. Perhaps the most fascinating thing for me is the calm and calmness, and I found silence in the air. There is no car in Zermatt; electric cars and horse-drawn sleighs and horse-drawn carriages are the only modes of transportation allowed. In fact, most people in the village, tourists and locals are on foot. I am convinced that this is one of the reasons why the village is in its original state and is so attractive to tourists.

The Swiss Alps are not out of heart - sometimes hiking is difficult and tiring, but the rewards are far greater than the challenges. Experience the most spectacular and beautiful scenery in the world. Hiking in the Swiss Alps is not a warm seaside honeymoon I have long imagined. In fact, it is better than any tropical paradise I choose.
