Flyer tips

Tips for cheerleading stunt show flyers. Whether you are a new flyer or an experienced flyer, these tips will help your performance, prevent injuries and keep your base away from you!

1. Keep your weight! The weight of the flyer does not matter. Just focus on how the flyer keeps her weight. If you don't keep your weight, this can make an 80-pound flying object feel like 150 pounds. If you keep your weight, it can make a 150-pound flying object feel like 120 pounds. Keep your weight not to drop.

2. Lock your legs! No matter what happens under you, don't bend your legs. You want your legs to be locked at the moment you get up, instead of bending them until your feet are on the ground again. If your stunt team is doing an obstacle, free, scorpion or any other stunt that requires bending one leg, the other leg needs to remain locked for the entire time.
