If you want to improve your cycling performance, you need to develop some type of training program. Setting goals is your first step in the process. This is an important step because your goals reflect the goals you most want to be a cyclist. For example, you might want to set a personal best in a particular match, complete your first century ride, or upgrade your car category. Whatever your goal, I suggest you use the SMART goal process to increase your chances of success. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound:
