Climbing Technology - Want Want Factor

You can have good climbing skills. You can have rock climbing skills. You can have rock climbing endurance. But unless you have a high level of motivation, you will not be able to reach your full potential. How many climbers have failed on the route they can and should do? a lot of! [And, this applies to me before you ask. This is a lesson that I need to re-learn endlessly.]

Most British climbers have heard of Pete Oxley; many others may not. In the UK, Pete has conducted more than 800 first-time climbs, from F5 / 5.7 to F8b / 5.13d, VS to E8. [By the way, if you don't know the UK's scoring system, don't worry, who did it?] Pete's route is remarkable in that many of them are of very high quality. He is now moving to New Zealand with his partner Jan. Adios amigo. Climb safely. Climb well.

Before leaving New Zealand, Pete returned to the old climbing project he had tried [and almost succeeded] for 14 years...
