Bathing in a remote area is a sinful pleasure!

If you think you have to give up the hot bath, think about backpacking in remote areas. This feeling of guilt can be yours without any inconvenience.

When we camped with our family and didn't have a restroom, we carried a large portable solar shower. Filled with cold water, we let the bag sit in the sun for a few hours and then hang down from the tree.

There is enough hot water to be heated by the sun and everyone can clean it.

The same is true for backpackers. We found a very compact and lightweight portable solar shower that can be placed on the palm of your hand when folded. After a hike on a hot day, there is nothing better than a warm shower to wash away all the sweat, dirt and insect spray. This is what a portable backpack solar shower can offer.

Even if you carry a backpack, you can still take a shower. Imagine exploring the forest on a long, hot day, hiking along dusty trails, climbing rocks, logs and trees, and enjoying a warm shower.

Portable showers heat up with the heating of solar energy and can become very warm in a short time.

A portable shower or portable outdoor shower is a great way to get a clean break. They will provide enough water for several hikers to perform a quick wash at the end of the day.

They are usually made of heavy, tough plastic with a black side and a transparent side. Our backpacking trip is made from black heavy-duty waterproof fabric.

There is a handle at the top, the rope is suspended from the branches or other tall and sturdy columns, and the hose with the shower head attached to the bottom.

The shower head can be opened or closed by pushing/pulling the shower head or unscrewing and closing it. Portable outdoor showers will come in different sizes, so check before you buy so you can get what you need.

Fill with water, leave in the sun and hang in the shower! Of course, use biodegradable soap and hang the shower at least 200 feet from a nearby stream or freshwater source.

Showering in remote areas seems to be an unnecessary luxury, but after a hike on a hot day, it is a lightweight luxury that I must carry with me.

Happy hiking!
