Anatomy of the bowling lane

Bowling is achieved by rolling a group of ten stitches along the bowling lane, with the goal of knocking down the ball as much as possible to get the most points. Bowling lanes are built to exacting requirements to maintain uniformity across all lanes.

The bowling alley has four sections. This method resulted in a free throw line at the start of the bowling lane. The free throw line marks the end of the approach and the starting point of the lane. The driveway is the majority of the planks and the ball is released and travels towards the pins. The final part of the bowling lane is the needle board deck with ten bowling balls. The bowling lane was originally built from hard maple and pine wood. However, the lane is now made up of approved synthetic materials similar to wood. In general, standard bowling lanes are 41 to 42 inches wide and 77 feet long and 10 3/16 inches long.
