Tennessee Williams - "Winter in the City" (Comment)

I hope that when most people think of Tennessee Williams, they will think of the dramas he wrote, such as "cats on hot dog houses" or "Glass Zoo", or even "Desire Streetcar", all the wonderful movies, and drama. But he wrote other stories and a novel, "The Spring of the Lady of Stone" and so on. But he is also a poet and a good poet. In the 1956 Winter of the City, I am not sure if you can find a book now. His poems are worth reading. He has good form, style and wit; even some shared insights, and a touch of wisdom. He is very descriptive and seems to follow modernism. As a gay writer, in the 1950s, he was a bit embarrassed about how he made his own love, leading people to believe in their emotions, but he exposed himself to a touch of color. He has long poems, short poems, poems that make you think of a poem, and some have an influence, because it can bother you.

In the past, there were several excellent writers [such as Tennessee] who first wrote poems before they started doing big things, so they felt that some were good and some were not. Faulkner wrote two poems. It was a mess. I took them all, and he should have never published them. Hemingway published some small books about poetry. He is adjacent to Ginsberg in style, or when he writes poetry, he or morality, this is more like his release, you can say therapy. not good at all. Robert Howard, who wrote many books and stories, is a great poet who likes this art but doesn't make money from it, so he insists on using his men's collection.

Some of today's great poets, such as Robert Bligh and Donald Hall, I don't need to say too much, they are good, and they have been around for years. But Tennessee fits the unknown poet bill, so if you have the chance to read his poems, you might be a favor for yourself.
