Short Story Review - Stephen King's "Harvey Dream"

"After Sunset" from Stephen King: "Harvey's Dream", a ten-page story, a book of more than 350 pages, $28.000 [I sell it for $7.00; thank goodness], according to my office Knowing that Mr. Jin has not written a short story for the time being, this book is his first book for many years. It wrote on the leaves in the book: "Stephen King...provides a series of surprising short stories..." Harvey's dream is far from surprising. I read some of his books a few years ago, and only one of them left a deep impression on me, but I have never read his short stories. This story is not well written and written according to anyone's standards. I don't have a complete book yet. It takes a year or two after reading this ten-page story. The story is really old, too simple, written in short sentences, and seems to be not properly connected.

He uses stupid phrases that don't fit the character's character or mood or the idioms of life - may be a bit confusing for young readers; it seems that he just grabs anything and knows that his name will bring the book to all this stupidity On, sentences - especially their endings can be said to be at least embarrassing. He sounds like a reporter, a third person reporter, should not report. He uses four-letter words, cuss words, to maximize his effectiveness, or let us say, emphasize emotions, and God, it is like a person staring at you, becoming stupid and dumbfounded.

He uses the click, slogan, "Waterloo" or "Little Ostrich's cockroach" or "The Sopranos" to express his point of view [stupid, stupid and clumsy]. I can't imagine anyone who wants to reread this story. I'm afraid to continue reading the other stories in the book. It's embarrassing. I feel embarrassed for him - strangely. He obviously does not work for the descendants of his work, most people, now writers are not, and it shows. But this story should never be in the book, it really benefits him. [August 11, 2010]
