Recreational fishery in Durras in the south coast of NSW, Australia

Located near Batemans Bay on the southern coast of New South Wales, Durras is a popular fishing destination for wet casual fishermen or holiday families just a wet line.

The most popular fishing spots can be divided into three areas:


  • Lake Duras. The Rover Park in Durras North or South Durras is just a short walk away. Most of the flathead and squid are caught on the slope of the ship. If you have a boat, kayaking or canoe, there are four square kilometers of lakes for fishing. Lake Duras is part of the Batemans Marine Park and has two shelters. These areas do not allow any form of fishing. Sometimes Durras Lake is open to the ocean, catching shrimp is a popular nighttime activity in summer.

  • Duras Beach It is 4 kilometers long and extends from Point Upright in the north to South Duras. The main captured fish include white carp, squid, tailor, squid and squid. Large beach poles are mostly used, so the skill level required is usually higher than...
