Scrapbooks are often seen as a woman's hobby. However, in the long history of this popular craft, there are many examples in which men play an important role in developing the art that millions of fans today love. Unfortunately, the appeal of men in scrapbooks is often money, and there is plenty of evidence that some of them really like scrapbooking as a hobby. Here are some of the better achievements of men in the history of scrapbooking.
- In the mid-1800s, London's "WH Rock" began producing leather photo albums with pre-printed flowers and bird pages. These albums are very popular among scrapbook lovers.
- In 1857, the production of the "carte-de-vista" album containing photo pockets became popular.
- Mark Twain, famous for Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, invented Mark Twain's Adhesive Scrapbook with pre-paste pages. This idea is one of his favorite business ventures, probably because it earned him more than $50,000. However, don't be fooled too easily, because Mark Twain likes scrapbooks so much that he puts his scrapbook album on Sunday afternoon.
- Thomas Jefferson is an addictive scrapbook. His album includes news clippings, paintings and dried leaves. In the eighth century, people used wood, metal or wood to help produce "Dutch Gilt" or "Dutch Flowered Papers" [lithographic or stencil printing in the Netherlands or Germany]. Originally intended for use in cabinetry, these patterns quickly became favorites in today's scrapbooks.
- In 1870 the company began mass production of embossed paper for scrapbook albums.
- Today, using stickers, hot letters, buttons, rubber stamps and metal decorations in the scrapbook, Prang developed the "Album Card" for the nineteenth century scrapbook. These ten cards are birds, flowers or landscape pictures for scrapbooking.
- Most 19th century scrapbooks have a "phone card." These decorated cards are left by the guests at the owner's home. They used to go into many scrapbooks, because the wonderful memories of wonderful parties and dances are not just women, but, as you have already guessed, men.
