How to capture bait with Sabiki rig surf fishing

Sabiki rigs can be used to capture baits from surfing. For those unfamiliar with them, they are a special rig with six small fixtures. You can prepare a #4 or #6 hook for surfing in their favorite fishing tackle store. The hooks are very small and sharp, but they are just right for bait fish. This is a great way to capture the bait needed for surf fishing.

Usually these rigs are used from docks or boats. The anglers set them aside and then move them up and down to capture their bait. They are often overlooked as a way to capture bait from the waves. Putting sabikis into the surf area requires only a little practice to get good results.

The rig itself is very light, so a sinker needs to be installed to cast it. You might want something between 1 ounce and 3 ounces.
