Garret Kramer's Comment on "Stillpower"

I have a chance to get an early copy of this book. from

I have to say that I like it very much. This is not my favorite book, but I think it is the athletes and coaches who are worth reading. They have the opportunity to collect one or two insights from the book that can really help them.

This book tells all about recognizing that motivation is intrinsic, whether it is sports or life, we cannot seek external motivation. If we do this, it will be short-lived and we will soon find ourselves performing worse. If we see what happens to us as disappointing or upward, we will not rely entirely on internal factors.

Kramer gave many examples of problems encountered by parents, coaches and athletes, as well as some of the ways he helped solve them and the advice he gave them. These are some of my favorite books because it helps to understand how Kramer's content really applies to real life. Sometimes, it feels that Kramer is just talking about things that are not actually applied to life, or at least, there is no way to try to adapt it to my own life, which really helps to understand.

One thing I don't like about this book is that sometimes the advice given is very general and doesn't seem to be very practical. For example, he said that if winning or losing affects your mood, you will not see it immediately, and because your motivation should be internal, those types of things should not affect your life or mood. Although this is true, there seems to be no really viable way to do this in your own life. He suggested how to view things, but did not suggest how to go from point A to point B.

Yes Stillpower from

Worth reading? it depends on. If you are an athlete or coach, I think you can get something from it, because it's obvious that even an insight that can improve your performance makes it valuable. In addition, it is a quick and easy to read, which should make it a relatively easy book. Overall, I really like Stillpower and would recommend it. But I don't like it.
