Rare breast cancer disease - Paget's disease [Paget's nipple disease or breast disease's infectious disease] is often confused with two common skin diseases, eczema and psoriasis. All of these are very similar and often force doctors to send their patients to specialist hospitals for proper diagnosis.
However, there are some detectable differences between Paget's disease and other skin conditions that many women can look for when self-checking for breast cancer. Often, there is no need to worry about common skin conditions that affect the breast; however, it is different for Paget's disease.
1. from
Eczema - from
It is a relatively common skin complaint; although it is considered to be a chronic inflammatory state of the skin, consisting of dry skin and red plaques, accompanied by a feeling of frequent itching, often causes the disease to become worse when scratched. [Eczema rarely affects the nipple].
2. from
Psoriasis - from
Similar to eczema, but with some common red patches of bulging skin and thick silver scales that appear on the skin [usually considered a more hereditary disease [one in every two cases of psoriasis usually has Hereditary]] still cannot explain what caused it].
3. from
Paget's disease - from
It can affect both men and women [more men in extreme cases] and is considered a fairly deadly form of cancer. The disease is not only dangerous in itself, but 50% of women with this disease are also diagnosed with one or more breast tumors in the same breast [in situ ductal carcinoma or invasive breast cancer [stage I-III]] Where the disease exists.
Symptom - from
Usually in the form of a red scaly rash that affects the nipple [the extension of the areola [black apron around the nipple] may occur frequently] and may itch or burn. For Paget's disease - malignant cells are usually found in the epidermis [skin surface] of the areola and nipple [malignant cells can be found alone or formed into groups].
In addition, inverted nipples [inwardly folded] and nipple discharge are rashes that are not only common signs of common skin disease. However, it usually affects only one breast [most skin diseases affect two breasts] compared to disease and more common skin diseases.
The three major dangers of Paget's disease are as follows:
1. from
Because Paget's disease is very similar to eczema and psoriasis; it can be misdiagnosed.
2. from
This is because there are malignant [cancer] cells.
3. from
Approximately 50% of female patients may also be diagnosed with breast tumors.
note: from
All three of these dangers can cause women to lose breasts or become another breast cancer death statistic. For early diagnosis of breast cancer, it is wise to conduct regular self-examinations. Any doubts [or even minor] found in any abnormalities: rest in the interior, upper or surrounding [nipple area] of the breast, through early consultation with a doctor or health consultant.
Orignal From: caveat! What looks like eczema or psoriasis on the breast may be Paget's disease - breast cancer
