Book review: I will watch the moon: a novel about Lucia Barrett looking for a home.

A book for spring, because it is about rebirth and life, Lucia Barrett's "I will look at the moon" will fill your lungs with fresh wild flowers. Although it is easy to be classified as romantic, the novel has a deeper level, transcending the rigid love relationship between men and women. This is also a story about the family, especially about the self.

This story begins with a strong beginning. The reader is actually thrown into the inner world of the protagonist and exposed to her most personal thoughts. Once we share the gift of Elizabeth Park Morgan, we will leave it and go back to the past to explore [and with her] the reasons and ways of this gift. In a Freudian way, the focus is on her childhood and her relationship with her parents and brothers, especially her mother, how to help shape her as a person, especially her ability to give and receive love. As she grew into a successful businesswoman, she experienced all the romantic risks of France, which will make the entire culture experience. She met a man who was torn by her dreams, where she discovered the reciprocity she had longed for in her life. But the illusion of a fairytale love story will soon be shattered, and the two parts only leave fragments that are no longer fused together. Elizabeth should rebuild herself and incorporate this story into her life experience.

While the main focus is on the love that Elizabeth shared with Antonio, there are other romantic strings throughout the pages of the book. Lucia Barrett published an intergenerational love story that presents a completely different relationship. First, there are a couple of successful couples represented by Elizabeth's grandparents who are the best friends in life and who care about each other in their later years. In the second pair, Elizabeth's parents are easy to fall in love, but they have been separated for years. Their common experience mainly reveals the differences between them and expands the gap between them. Finally, the heroine's love story still lets you discover which category you should fall in, but stick to the last pages of the book.

"I will watch the moon" is a drama about perspective. Depending on how the light is covered, the surface will appear in front of our eyes. The person controlling the light source controls what we see. In this case, Lucia Barrett drives the steering wheel and guides you to the unexpected details.
