Ayurvedic family therapy for ear infections and pain

The ear is a very sensitive organ; it is one of the most important senses of the human body - hearing. Due to its subtle nature, there may be several problems with the human ear. When the ear is infected, one of the most common problems arises. In severe cases, pus may form. This inflammation of the ear usually occurs in children.

All ear infections and pain are collectively referred to as Putikarna in Ayurveda. They are usually caused by the pollution of kapha dosha, a body element that coordinates the body's earth and water elements. Therefore, people with ear problems must be careful not to further deteriorate kapha dosha.

The cold season is usually associated with ear problems. In some people, earache infections are associated with the common cold that occurs at the beginning of the winter. This is most common among children. However, in children, common colds must be treated as soon as possible, otherwise inflammation may cause permanent damage to the hearing.

The formation of pus is mainly related to children. This is a serious case of ear infection and must be treated promptly. When there is a pus infection, there is a cough and the child is likely to have a fever. This is due to the pollution of kapha dosha.

Useful herbs for treating ear infections and pain

- The roots of the Bael [Aegle marmelos] bael tree are used in a unique way to treat ear problems. The hard roots of the tree are immersed in the eucalyptus oil and then ignited. The oil dripping from this root can fall into the ear. This greatly relieves ear pain and infection.

- Bishop's Weed[Trachyspermum ammi] Bishop weeds are very effective in treating ear congestion. Approximately one teaspoon is heated in 30 ml of milk. Allow the weed juice to penetrate into the milk. It is then used as an ear drop.

- The holy basil of St. Basil [St. Basil], or the tulsi in Hindi, is good for the ear problem. Juice extracted from the leaves must be used as ear drops. It adds benefits to children with ear problems.

- Azadirachta indica has an antibacterial property so it can kill organisms that produce infections in the ears. It is effective in itself. To enhance its effect, the bael root can be used as previously described.

Diet therapy for ear infections and pain

The diet of patients with ear problems should be like this, it will not invalidate the kapha dosha responsible for them. The following dietary guidelines must be followed: -

- Acidic foods must be avoided as they can damage kapha. These include sour curd and fruit.

- Bananas, watermelons, oranges, papayas and cucumbers must be avoided. These foods can increase your chances of catching a cold. This can exacerbate the ear problem. For the same reason, all chilled foods must also be avoided.

- The valuable food for ear problems is onions, ginger and garlic. Turmeric is also very good and must be used to process food.

Ayurveda treats ear infections and pain

Most ear problems are treated with Lakshmi Vilas rasa. This applies to adults and children. In adults, the dose is three times a day. This is a bitter medicine, so in order to reduce its bitterness, it is taken with honey. In children, the dose is reduced.

For external use, Nirgundi is prescribed. The extract of nirgundi oil is boiled with mustard oil. This solution is used as an external drop for the ear. Drops are usually prescribed twice a day.

Home treatment for ear infections and pain

- Make a fine mixture of turmeric and medlar [alum has been allowed to swell]. This mixture is slowly introduced into the ear.

- Combine Indian cockroaches and honey in breast milk and place them in infected ears for benefits.

- Add a little fenugreek to the milk. This can be used to place drops into the infected ear.

- The paste of bilwa root is boiled with mustard oil. After filtration, the oil was used as an ear drop.

- A piece of cloves is fried with sesame oil. Place three to four drops of this substance into the ear. This method can greatly alleviate ear problems.

- A simple remedy is to use ginger extract as ear drops. Onion juice can also be used in a similar manner, but must be heated.

Ear infections may be itchy or painful. Therefore, the child will tend to grasp the ear or put his or her finger in the Eustachian tube. This must be strictly avoided because the dirt on your fingers can further exacerbate the infection. In addition, by doing so, the person increases the chance of infecting others.

People with ear problems must take care to stay away from the cold as much as possible. They must avoid taking a bath until the ear problem is treated. They must wear warm clothes and avoid eating cold food.
