What does health care reform mean for complementary programs such as cancer insurance?

Health care reform does not apply to these types of insurance plans. why? Because supplemental health [emphasis supplements], such as cancer and accident insurance, is not your traditional type of health insurance. The main difference for a given illness and/or event is to compensate you, not your health care provider. If health insurance usually pays for various diseases and/or accidents [sometimes not including pregnancy] and always pays for medical facilities, then never. The government is not concerned with reforming supplementary health insurance because these programs are considered as an alternative coverage and should not be confused with traditional insurance - if possible, you should always keep the traditional plan.

Then why do you need to add health insurance? Consider... Now and for at least the next four years, the main part of the health care reform will not take effect. Even so, there will always be many people calling it "the cost of the pocket." Let's take a look at some of the expenses that cost the US savings account, causing some people to go bankrupt and cause serious debt...

The typical cost seen by a person, if sick, does not work, and has traditional health insurance:

  • Wages loss
  • Deductible
  • Co-payment
  • Some drugs are not covered
  • Can you imagine your savings can survive for months in these costs?

Health care reform will change many things, such as being able to get traditional health insurance through existing conditions and/or if you get low-income insurance through state-provided changes, but keep in mind that we won't see these changes until 2014. Supplementary health is not excluded now or at the time. Because supplemental insurance involves freedom, it can help you when making critical decisions in your healthcare management. Let us hope that this will never happen, but what if you struggle to pay for your wages to be hit by too much work time, but you still like your traditional insurance is the second view. Don't pay... Guess, this extra money in your pocket can be equal and free!

Here are some other reasons why you should consider supplementing your health insurance:

  • Designed to replenish your income when needed - a bit like the cheapest disability insurance you find.
  • Most of these programs will give you regular health tests that will greatly reduce your costs.
  • Some of these plans can cost as little as $10.00 a month - a low-cost feature that is attractive to protecting yourself.
