Use clay to release creativity

The simplest form of modeling or engraving is clay. Using this flexible and extensible material is both fun and enjoyable. Creating even three-dimensional graphics with clay is very easy. So much, even children can easily use their creativity to knead, squash, roll and other shapes to shape the material into whatever form they want.

The versatility of the humble clay makes it suitable for children, novice artists and experienced sculptors. In fact, sculptors often use clay to create large characters. However, since the clay cannot support its own weight, an internal metal armature is used to construct the model.

Clay has an easy-to-use form and is ideal for making masks, prototypes and special effects. In fact, clay modeling is also used for animation, and this specialized art is called clay.

Type of clay

Clay can be molded not only in a variety of ways, but also in many types. They also depend on the composition and production process. Although water-based clays tend to harden when exposed to air, non-hardening changes can also be obtained. In fact, some clay types need to be heated in the oven to properly harden the model. This is usually used for ceramics.

Non-hardening clays are based on oils or waxes that prevent them from drying out, cracking or shrinking. This is the first choice for artists and sculptors because of its flexibility to preserve details and even reuse them by heating. Some advanced clays remain permanently malleable and can therefore be used again and again. This is followed by the reproduction of ballistic clay from animal tissue, which can be used to test body armor and forensic medicine.

The final choice of clay is personal and based on the feel of the material, texture and hardness, and the potential requirements of the finished product.

Regardless of the choice of clay, you must use a variety of tools to cut, pierce and carve the clay before you can shape it into the shape you want. Cutting machines, trimmers, trowels and pliers are just a few of them. Once the clay is ready, you can finish the paint and even dye it.

Special care is required when clay molds are used to make resin, rubber or metal castings. The mold must be properly sealed prior to casting because the clay will deform or even dissolve upon contact with the solvent. In addition, the sulfur content of certain clays generally ends up inhibiting the solidification of silicone rubber and urethane rubber. Therefore, sulfur-free clay is considered to be a better choice for clay modeling.

In summary, flexible clay appears as a choice of modeling material. It is very convenient, you can use it at will!
