How to deal with lies of elderly parents

No one likes to hear lies. Without it is a habit of a lifetime, if the elderly parents start to say that what you know is not true, it is time to take action. Here are a few steps to prevent serious problems:

1] from

Don't blame your parents
from

: Calling your parents' lies will not help this situation at all. In fact, it makes the situation worse. At this point, even if you can't trust your parents, you need your parents to trust you.

2] from

Check the medicine box
from

: Certain medications can cause symptoms that mimic dementia. Others can interact and do the same thing. This is more likely to happen if your parents go to multiple doctors or pharmacies. They don't always communicate with each other. Bring the list to your doctor or pharmacy to see if there is a problem.

3] from

Please doctor
from

: Only a doctor can diagnose your parents' problems and/or change medications. If the problem is not caused by a drug, a diagnosis of dementia may occur. This will mean many changes in your life and in your parents' lives.

There are some good reasons to follow this list. Even if they do not have dementia, our elders are at risk of fraud. When they have this situation, this risk will increase greatly.

I have seen two cases showing this problem. In one, the family lost everything. On the other hand, fraud is done in a timely manner, but it will bring substantial problems to other families. Once you find out that your parents have not told you the truth, then it is time to take action.
