Ham Soup Recipe - 5 delicious ways to use this Hambon

There is a ham bone in your refrigerator, but you are not sure what to do? This is an interesting five recipes, including descriptions of tanks and stoves. These range from traditional peas to creative wild rice and ham chowder.

Lentil soup

Preparation time: 15 minutes cooking time: see below

Pams-hams bones

P pound dried lentils

6 cups of water

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves of garlic, chopped

1 small V8 juice

C cup oil

1 ton of basil [optional]

Seasoning with salt and pepper

Rinse the lentils thoroughly. Combine all ingredients.

In a jar, cook for 8-10 hours and remove the bone from the soup. Cut the ham and put the chopped ham back into the soup

On the top of the stove: mix the ingredients together and boil. Then cover and cook for 2 hours or until the beans are soft. Remove bones from the soup. Cut the ham and put the chopped ham back into the soup

Pea soup or navy bean soup

Preparation time: 15 minutes cooking time: see below

Pams-hams bones

2 cups of dried peas or dried navy beans

6 cups of water

2 chopped carrots

1 large onion, chopped

1 ton thyme [optional]

1 ton of basil [optional]

Seasoning with salt and pepper

Rinse the peas thoroughly. Combine all ingredients

Recommended: In a jar, cook for 8-10 hours. Remove bones from the soup. Cut the ham and put the chopped ham back into the soup.

On the top of the stove:

Soak the beans overnight with t t. If you can, baking soda.

Combine the ingredients and boil.

Then cover and cook for 2 hours or until the beans are soft.

Remove bones from the soup.

Mixed bean soup

Preparation time: 15 minutes cooking time: see below

1 pound dry mixed beans

1 can crush tomatoes

1 large onion, chopped

4 cups of water

2 celery - chopped

2 carrots - chopped

3 cloves of garlic

1 ton of basil [optional]

Seasoning with salt and pepper

Rinse the beans thoroughly. Combine all ingredients

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Preparation time: 20 minutes, cooking time: 30 minutes

1 bunch of broccoli, chopped [I mainly use tops]

1 - c cup of milk

1 [14 ounces] can be chicken soup

1 cup of water

1 lb. chopped cheddar cheese or Velveeta

5 T. Butter

4 T. Flour

Seasoning with salt and pepper

Steam broccoli in a microwave oven.

  [Casserole 1/2 inch of water, cook for about 3 minutes or until you start smelling it]

  In a large stockpot, melt the butter and mix well. Slowly add the remaining ingredients and keep stirring. Finally add ham bones. Cook for 30 minutes or longer. If it is thicker than you want, add more milk. Remove bones from the soup. Cut the ham and put the chopped ham back into the soup

Wild rice and ham chowder

Preliminaries: 30 minutes, cooking time: 45 minutes

A. 1 cup of water, c cup of wild rice

B. c cup of butter or margarine, c cup chopped onion, 3 cloves of garlic, chopped, c cup of flour, 4 cups of water and 4 chicken broth

C. 1 cup peeled, cubed potatoes, c cup chopped carrots, t t. Thyme, t t. Nutmeg, salt and pepper seasoning

D. 1 [17 ounces] can be whole grain corn, undrained, 2 cups and a half [or milk], pams-hams bones

  Cook A. put aside. B. Mix butter, onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is crisp. Stir the flour. Cook for 1 minute and stir constantly. Add water and broth.

  Add C. Boil, reduce heat, cover and cook for 15-30 minutes. Add D and cook for another 20 minutes. Remove bones from the soup. Cut the ham and put the chopped ham back into the soup
