Wheelchair sports are becoming more and more popular every year. Being restricted to a wheelchair no longer hinders the individual's ability to participate in recreational activities. Much like the regular sports league, wheelchair enthusiasts have varying degrees of competitiveness.

If you are considering joining a wheelchair team or league - you should be aware of some rule changes. While the rules of most sports remain the same, there are some key changes in some sports. For the purposes of this article, we decided to focus on wheelchair basketball.

Here are some of the rule changes you will see when watching or playing wheelchair basketball and regular basketball:

Ordinary basketball: When it comes to ordinary basketball, no travel is probably the most important rule. An athlete who moves with his feet when the basketball is in his/her hands is guilty of travel.
