I have read this book ' I know why the birds in the cage sing '. It's hard to read because child abuse is so sad. When I saw the follow-up book "Mom and Me and Mom." I'm curious. I want to see how Maya Angelou lives as an adult.
I like to read this book. Maya Angelou is a strong woman, but her mother is also true. Although not perfect, she was redeemed in her own way. Maya's mother explained to her children that when she was young, she and her father would not be good parents, they chose to let the mother raise them because she would take good care of them. The time when Maya's parents tried to take over just confirmed this fact.
Maya's mother was later called Lady B. She was unable to give her daughter when she was a child. She made up as an adult and they became very intimate. The Mayan brothers could not recover from the disappointment of childhood, nor could they fight heroin. However, Maya blossomed in adulthood.
Maya's early adult life reflected her childhood struggle, but with the support of her mother, she found her way. The romantic relationship between Maya or her mother did not work. Little by little, every woman has discovered the interest and talents that are good at life and started to adopt different methods.
Ms. B has tried and worked with her ladies in different careers. Charity. After her death, a park was named after her. What a wonderful way to leave this life.
Maya did not start her adult life as a star. She has some very difficult times. Before being discovered, she found a job at the strip club because she needed to support her younger son. Once she began to explore her talents, she even had to fight for respect when guiding her first film. She called her mother for support. Once her mother joined her scene, everything went smoothly.
Maya never went to college but became a university professor. Not just reputation, but actual teaching. She became a beloved woman all over the world. She and her mother are simple girls, have a hard start, can mend their relationship, and everyone has left their mark in this world.
If you have ever believed that your life doesn't matter, then let this story encourage you and you can make a difference.
