Mindfulness 8 week course - Melrose Scottish Borders
This course is structured around the evidence-based eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programmes, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and by Professor Mark Williams, John Teasdale and Zindel Segal, respectively. During the course you will learn how to manage your thoughts so you can handle challenging feelings, moods and physical sensations in a more effective way. Research shows that practicing mindfulness meditation can help us: Reduce anxiety, stress and irritability Improve memory Reduce the impact of chronic pain Improve our general feeling of wellbeing and quality of life. The course takes place every Wednesday evening 7pm - 9pm from 6th April 2016 until 25th May 2016. Course contents: Eight weekly sessions of two hours Daily mindfulness practice Full day of mindfulness practice The cost of the course also includes free access to the equivalent online programme.
