Pilates in the barn

I began to believe that every young, healthy, successful, equestrian athlete had a slightly bloated, middle-aged, underemployed suburban housewife with her short brown hair cut off and 125,000 miles on the odometer. Yes, Ma Xiu's mother looks fresh, happy and healthy, but this is not what I saw in the mirror.

After years of bringing our youngest daughter to the barn every day [and still trying to get the rest of the family to eat and provide clean socks and underwear], I am exhausted and I look at it. Some things have to change.

For me, when my husband sat at the kitchen table and said, "I want my wife to come back." I am not sure if he is referring to the fact that I have never returned home or that I am no longer the slim of his marriage. Funny, energetic girl.

no matter which way. . . Ouch!

Then he said, "If we continue to encourage our daughters to become addicted to horse riding, we need to include you, me and other families. We will deduct the dollar before tax, which means we do real business.

"From that day on, I knew that our conversation was not unique. It happened in kitchen tables across the country and in the stables of the stables. It usually starts with something similar," how much did the horse spend? Michael Bloomberg, who do you think I am?

"We chose to meet the pre-tax dollar" motto strategy was to buy a small horse boarding facility near our home. Our trainer Mariano Bedoya helped guide us through the process and he helped us recruit our barn manager Jorge Viton. From Wellington, Florida.

Having a barn is a lot of work, but it has also become a place for the whole family to enjoy. Our youngest daughter prefers her rides more than ever. Older girls promote our facilities by taking a lot of photos and posting them on Facebook. Boys are only interested in tractors, ATVs or power tools. I am willing Doing housework. The husband even has an "office" filled with new drilling machines for making jumps and a variety of fishing rods.

But for me, the best part of our barn is the new Pilates reform studio. When we bought our barn, I insisted on providing space for the small Pilates reform studio. Years ago, I was initially tempted by Pilates and recovered from knee surgery. It looks elegant, safe and simple. simple? what! When the trainer guided me every move, I learned the beauty and challenging nuances of the correct, effective Pilates work. I told her many times that "I definitely can't act correctly," but when I "do it!", I ended up blushing like the little girl in the first little horse class. I turned through Pilates and believe this is the perfect spot plan for my daughter and other serious equestrian athletes in our barn. With proper guidance and supervision, you can experience reinforcement, extension and balance without pain.

Pilates teaches you how to calm down, listen to your body and respect the movement of the equipment. Can you imagine a more perfect training for the rider? Our Pilates trainers have no specific experience in training equestrian athletes, so we count on the pigment knight and trainer Betsy Steiner to hold regular clinics in our barn throughout the year. Betsy helped promote the word "Equilates" and was the author of the book "Gymnastics System - Using Mind, Body and Spirit."

I will always like to sit in the viewing room and watch our daughter train. It gave me real happiness. But there is a Pilates studio on the scene, and I look forward to the more balanced and healthy life of this Ma Xiu mother.

Pilates' six principles

Pilates is a series of controlled thought movements, usually performed on specially designed bulletproof exercise equipment. It focuses on improving flexibility, core strength and body awareness. In the book Pilates Physical and Psychological Adjustment Methods, six "Pilates Principles" are described. The following list applies these principles to the unique challenges of equestrian athletes.

1. Focus!
from

Pilates trains the body and mind. Just like horse riding, a person must habitually "always exist" in the body and mind in order to be successful and safe.

2. Control!
from

The original name for the Pilates exercise method is "Contrology". The exercises are all about keeping the collection. In Pilates and cycling, a perfect workout is less effective than 100 workouts.

3. Centered!
from

All body movements come from our core. When the core is engaged with a better posture, the rider's seat is deepened and the chance of injury is reduced.

flow!
from

Pilates and horse riding are all about mobility, elegance and relaxation. Pilates equipment and horses are very good mirrors for flow and concentration. If the flow is lost, the Pilates device begins to explode. The rider must combine their movements with their horses to avoid collapsing, twisting or bouncing on the saddle.

5. Precision!
from

Correct Pilates training requires a strong focus on detail and quickly becomes second nature. Pilates' adult students find that their new mindfulness will change their daily posture, and some people's body will increase significantly. A better posture can lead to a more elegant riding experience.

6. Breathe!
from

Depth, control, and clean breathing are all part of maximizing your Pilates movement. Deeper stretching, longer muscles and oxygenated blood mean less spasms and tightening muscles while entering and exiting the saddle.
