Keep the following in mind when you enter your first personal training session or meet your new trainer for the first time.
- Know who is responsible.
from
Your coach is not the person in charge, you are! You are the ones who give orders on things that feel right and feel.
- speak out!
from
Your trainer's job is to understand your situation and provide customized advice and advice [please note that I did not specify the order]. The more information you provide to your trainers, the better they can customize your experience.
- Let them know when you feel uncomfortable.
from
Many people appear too weak or weak in front of a fit and strong coach. So they ignored their limits and let the trainers push them too far. As a trainer, I try to be a mental reader to understand the customer's thoughts and feelings. Let your coach tell them everything easily.
- The proper trainer will never blame you.
from
Trainers should be encouraged, motivated and friendly. They may give you a kick when you need them, but it is almost unnecessary at the first meeting. If you feel that you have trained Sargent in the first training instead of training partners, then please pay attention to you.
from
Feel free to end the meeting.
Any coach who deserves their salt will have 101 options for you. If you ask for a different way of doing things, they should have a lot of choices. If they can't work with you, then simply say "I don't think this is my idea" and end the meeting. Remember that you get what you want there instead of helping the trainer fill out their own personal schedule.
I found it best to enter the first meeting, just like the first day of a new job. You only need to meet new people there, learn from each other and learn the ropes. Nothing above should be the focus of the first meeting.
*Because this is your first time using a trainer, you don't have to work very hard. Anything done the first time will produce results. So don't feel the need to push the restrictions.
from
* The most important thing is that you enjoy yourself there, try something new and have fun.
from
*Be sure to work out with proper clothes and water.
from
* If possible, you can meet with the trainer in advance to learn about the contents of the first meeting in order to understand the preparations.
from
* As always, before you start a new exercise program, check and get a thorough cleaning of your doctor. This helps speed up initial medical and risk assessments.
from
* You know your limits better than anyone else. There is plenty of time to postpone the limit, but your first meeting is not the time to see if you can do 1000 push-ups.
Healthy, free,
Matt Schifferle
