Orchid type for your home

Some of the most interesting plants you can find at the local nursery or home renovation garden center are orchids. Orchid is a delicate flower that is unique because it stands out among other flowers. Orchids usually have a long stem with a large flower to a small flower at the top. There are many different orchid types today.

Beautiful orchids have added to our world for many centuries. Today, there are more than 25,000 orchid species and more than 100,000 hybrids. As orchid lovers are creating new and more interesting flowers, the number of hybrids is growing. The reason for manufacturing hybrid cars is to increase the color, design and durability of the factory. Through durability, it means how easy it is to grow, making the flowers last longer and not easy to die under watering. These are the types of orchids that can be purchased at the nursery.

Each orchid comes from one of two very large families. One family is called land and the other is epiphytes. In these families, different orchid types will vary. These two groups are based on the location and manner of orchid growth. The first family, the land, is the orchid we usually see, and many orchids grow roots under the soil, although some may grow roots above and below the soil surface. The term for this particular species is called semi-terrestrial.

One of the more common orchid types in the terrestrial family is Cymbidium. This orchid is one of the first orchid types to be raised and thought in our home. These orchids can be found in Southeast Asia, Japan and Australia. Cymbidium should be planted in a mixture of soil and rock and is one of the most popular orchids. One of the attributes of Cymbidium is that it is one of the very few orchid types that can withstand lower temperatures.

The second of the two orchid types is epiphytes. These orchids grow on their roots and are exposed to elements and can grow in many different places, such as in trees and rock areas. Because of the places where these orchids live, they provide more seeds to ensure they are successfully distributed through the wind as well as animals and insects. When the orchid grows on the tree, its roots will get the water they need from the bark. Epiphytic plants grow more easily than land because of the easier watering process.

Today there are more than 1,000 different epiphytes, each of which is as beautiful as the next. These orchid types are commonly found in more tropical areas such as Australia, Polynesia, Southeast Asia and northern India. Among these orchid types, sarcophagus is the most common, but does not bloom as often as we hope.
