What will create an emergency survival event?

There are many possible events, both natural and man-made. We all must be aware of these events and start preparing for them now. We have time to prepare now, but unfortunately we may not have time after the incident. This article will discuss one of the events.

* Completely unexpected events, such as a family or group getting lost while hiking or other outings.

We all believe that getting lost may happen to others and not to us. We often deny that this may happen to us. In fact, getting lost while going out may happen to our best people, so planning ahead is critical to our survival while waiting for the way to be rescued or to find it.

We must try to imagine what happens if one of our groups or one of our groups is surprised by the proximity of the scheduled route and distracted by the beauty of our surroundings and the sudden loss of direction. As for the direction and/or the way we return to this location. Then most of us will analyze the situation and choose a direction, hoping to return to our destination or vehicle, but find that we are really lost now.

If you really lose the right action, you may stay in our place until our team finds us. Unfortunately, most of us will continue to find the right route. In this case, we may be getting farther and farther away from where we want. If we insist on pioneering, these are things we might want to consider.

First of all, if we are ready, we will have a backpack that contains some essential survival items. We should all carry items just in case. For example; a whistle used to help those who might be looking for us. A basic first aid kit, some way to start the warmth of the fire and help our rescue, basic survival tools such as knives, some small food rations, a water container, a solar blanket, some ropes, a roll of reflective tape , compass or GPS device and pencil and paper.

If we get lost, it's best to find the highest elevation in the area and build a responsible fire so that by placing leaves or other dry materials on it will generate smoke to remind those looking for our vision from a long distance. In addition, when we leave our lost area, attach a small amount of reflective tape to the trees or branches of our route, which may help our rescue.

This is a good practice. When we first arrive at our hiking location, we should pay attention to the direction of our main road to this place. It is North/South or East/West, and when we stop in which direction we start hiking. Knowing these coordinates will greatly help us find a way out. If we continue to search for roads or our vehicles instead of staying in one place, if we don't have a compass or other pointing device, we should choose objects on the horizon, such as trees, and go to that position as we move forward. When we get to that object, pick another object on the horizon and walk towards it in the same direction. This led us to travel in a huge circle, which might get us back to the same area we started.

In short, if we are a hiker or a sightseeing adventure, many of us may be separated or lost at some point. It is our responsibility to be prepared. It is responsible to carry the least amount of survival gear in our backpacks. If lost or separated, don't panic, stay focused, stay dry, warm and follow common sense, which will increase our chances of quick positioning. Our backpacks should have at least a few days of food and water, some medical supplies and other necessities.

Stay safe and enjoy all the adventures available outdoors.
